About Tim

Tim Bennett and his amazing wife Misty have been married for 21 years.  Blessed with three young kids (13, 13, and 8), they live in Spring Branch, Texas north of San Antonio.  Tim has been in residential construction for the last 18 years.  Tim started his own company, Bennett Design Build, 13 years ago and enjoys building clients their custom dream homes.  However, his greatest drive in life is to strive to glorify God each day in all that he does.  Growing up as a preacher/missionary kid in Bangkok, Thailand, and other parts of Texas, he was surrounded by ministry at an early age.  Later, after attending Texas A&M University (Fightn’ Texas Aggie class of ’01) with a degree in Recreation Parks & Tourism Science and an emphasis on Outdoor Recreation Management, he and his wife moved back to Chiang Mai, Thailand.  There they pursued campus ministry for two years before coming back home to Texas.  Much of his involvement in ministry over the years has incorporated the outdoors into teaching and motivating young people about Jesus.  They also stay very active at Northside Church of Christ in San Antonio, where Tim has also served as the mission chair striving to encourage and motivate their church family in fulfilling God’s mission to fulfill the great commission.

Currently Tim’s focus is on his family and when they have free time, they try to spend it outdoors in appreciation of what God has provided.  He loves his time in the outdoors whether it is camping, hiking, kayaking, or spending time on a river fly-fishing in the Texas hill country or Colorado.  He hopes that his involvement with TREK will allow others to see God in their lives through the activities that TREK offers in spreading the gospel, mentoring young people, and training leaders.  One of his favorite bible verses, Proverbs 16:9 says, “In his heart a man plans his course, but the Lord determines his steps.”  This is a verse that God has actively shown Tim in his life thus far and he hopes he can help others to learn that the greatest steps we can take are those that God helps us find in glorifying Him.
