About Sami
Sami was born and raised up in western Michigan. You might be able to figure that out just by hearing her talk. Growing up, she did a lot of camping around the mitten with her neighbors. Sami has always loved community and the joy that is found in relationships. After completing high school, she set out for Central Michigan University and pursued a degree in Outdoor and Environmental Recreation-with a minor in geology of course, because rocks are pretty neat. The degree led her to do a 30-week internship with Wilderness Trek to pursue outdoor ministry.
Sami joined our team full time in Jan of 2020 and lives at our basecamp in Glorieta, NM. Sami is always up for an adventure to explore God’s creation, especially if she gets to share that with her friends or our trekkers-especially if it involves climbing a tree or doing handstands. Sami is a gifted leader, loves people, loves to rock climb, and generally enjoys anything outside. Her gifts and talents are a great addition to our team and we are blessled to have her!
