About John T.
John T. Wright is a long-time member of the WTCC family who first participated in Trek in 1989 and who served as a staff member and guide from 1990-1997. John T. has served on the WTCC Board since 1998 and has held several officer and leadership roles with WTCC including Secretary, Vice-President, and President. John T. currently serves as President of the Wilderness Trek Foundation.
John T. considers himself blessed to be the husband of Amy Wright and father to their son John Lewis Wright. John T., Amy and John Lewis split their time between their homes in Austin and Hawkins, Texas.
John T. is a founding principal in the law firm of Parish & Wright, PLLC out of Austin, Texas where he is a practicing attorney specializing in nonprofit governance, administrative law, government relations and entertainment law. John T. has over 20 years of experience advising non-member and member nonprofits on governance, administrative law, and government relations matters. John T’s legal practice primarily focuses on representing rural electric cooperative clients in corporate and transactional matters, as well as working on government relations matters on their behalf before the Texas Legislature and State agencies. In addition to his legal practice, John T. serves as the President and CEO of Big Sandy Sand Company, LLC, a family business started by his Great Grandfather in 1948, located in Hawkins, Texas. John T. is also an entrepreneur involved in varying business pursuits and has extensive experience in the promotion, booking, management and production aspects of the music industry.
