About Paul

Paul is responsible for overseeing the administration, programs, and strategic plan of the organization. Other key duties include fundraising, marketing, and community outreach. Paul will serve as the main public contact and spokesperson for Wilderness Trek and will represent WTCC in all professional business capacities.

Paul grew up in Waco, Texas and graduated from Abilene Christian University in 1997 with a degree in Religious Studies, with an emphasis in Youth and Family Studies. Paul spent almost 15 years as a full time Youth Pastor in large churches in Colorado Springs, Colorado; Kansas City, Kansas; and Midland, Texas. Before coming over to Wilderness Trek, Paul was the Senior Business Operations Manager at Big Bear AggieTech, the largest privately-owned oilfield pumping unit service company in the Southwest. As the Senior Business Operations Manager, Paul oversaw 11 departments that managed over $12 million in annual spending and $5 million in assets.

Paul was also a former guide for Wilderness Trek in the summers of 1995 and 1996. He is married to Jane Talley and has two boys, Jackson, 15 and Luke, 13. Paul lives in Midland, Texas and enjoys backpacking, hiking, mountain biking, rock climbing, and restoring old 4x4s. Paul is also an avid Christian speaker and writer.

“Paul’s ministry, outdoor, and business experiences, along with his history with the WTCC family, uniquely qualifies him to implement the Board’s vision to build a sustainable ministry for introducing generations to come to the Creator in His creation. We are excited and look forward to working with Paul on his plans for transforming this ministry to reach people in new and creative ways that may result in a WTCC that looks very different from its past, but, that I’m certain, will remain true to the vision of the WTCC family for this work” said, John T. Wright, President of WTCC.

When asked about his job job Paul said, “As a former youth pastor and avid backpacker, I am excited about getting to combine two things I am passionate about, spiritual development and the outdoors. Wilderness Trek has a rich heritage and a bright future. I feel blessed to be a part of it.”
